South Jersey Matrimonial Attorney, Stephen A. Browndorf, Esq.

I have served as a family law attorney in New Jersey for 38 years. I know what I’m doing, and I am quite good at what I do. Think about it, if you needed surgery, you most likely would not want a rookie surgeon. You would want someone who has seen it all and done it all. You would want someone who specializes in their field. My law practice is strictly limited to Family Law, so if you need someone to handle critical matters such as your divorce, custody of your child, paying child support, alimony, division of your assets and debts, or domestic violence, you would also want someone who’s been through it many times, and who repeatedly obtains good results. You would also want someone who is quite familiar with the local courts, judges, and other attorneys.

I was raised and educated in Atlantic County and attended Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania, where I received my accounting degree. I received a J.D. (Doctor of Jurisprudence) degree from Delaware Law School in 1981. I passed the bar exam on my first try and opened my own law office in 1983. I was a sole practioner until having the pleasure of joining Cynthia Ann Brassington and forming Brassington & Browndorf in 2019. Unfortunately, our time practicing together was cut short due to Cynthia’s diagnosis of cancer and passing in September, 2020.

I advise my clients; I don’t tell them what to do. It is your case, and your life, and you make the final decisions. However, if you are not an attorney, it is difficult for you to negotiate and to size up whether a settlement offer is fair, reasonable and in your best interests. This is where my advice comes in.

I keep my clients informed. You receive copies of everything  that comes in and goes out on your matter. I want your input; you know your life better than I do. This is where we work as a team.

I believe in courtesy. If you call and I am not available, I get back to you quickly. When I receive a call, email or correspondence from my adversary, I respond to them quickly to help move your case along.

I have been a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association for many years and continue to update my education through various webinars. I have been a Matrimonial Early Settlement Panel panelist for many years.

I am here to serve you and will protect your rights and get you through this difficult time. Please call my office manager Karen at 609-601-2323 to schedule an initial consultation. At the consultation, you can fill me in on the background of your case and I can give you my advice on how we should proceed.
