This is a tribute to Cynthia Ann Brassington who was taken from us way too early on September 20, 2020 after a short battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Cynthia touched so many lives both through her law practice and personally. She was a devoted, compassionate and professional attorney for all her clients and never hesitated to help her clients weather the storm they encountered during their divorce.
She believed family law was the most important area of law, because, as she often stated, families are the center of our universe.
She attended Richard Stockton State College of New Jersey and graduated with highest honors. She then chose Rutgers School of Law in Camden in order to commute to law school and be home to make dinner for her children. After graduating in 1992, Cynthia was accepted as a judicial clerk for a family law Judge. She was a panelist on the Matrimonial Early Settlement Panels in both Atlantic and Cape May Counties. She taught family law as an adjunct Professor for Atlantic County Community College where she inspired many future attorneys in the field of family law. She was certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Matrimonial Law Attorney and was honored to sit on the Family Law Executive Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association.
One of Cynthia’s greatest professional accomplishments was to be accepted into the prestigious American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML).
We all lost a fabulous person in 2020 and for those of us that had the honor of working with her, we lost a true friend. She will be forever remembered and missed. This firm carries on her name to honor and remember her to all and for her great contribution to the practice of family law and to those she touched by her presence, hard work and friendship.
